Department: HOTEL FRONT DESK
Pay range – Hourly, plus gratuity
As needed. Weekends and holidays mandatory

  • Assists with luggage upon check in or check out. Escorts guests from the lobby to their room and familiarizes them with the hotel’s services and guest room information. Provides guest services as requested by the front desk and also offers valet parking to guests.
  • Must hold a valid driver’s license and must be able to drive a standard transmission
  • Must have good oral and written communication skills, friendly and able to deal with people, able to prioritize and be multi-task oriented. Must have the ability to read, write and speak English fluently. Basic math skills.
  •  Guest service experience a plus, but not necessary.
  • Must be able to stand for a minimum of 6 hours a day. Must be able to push, pull, tug, and carry 50 pounds.
  • Environment is very fast paced. Environment is such that requires assistance in other areas as needed. 

Department: KITCHEN
Pay range – Hourly, Commensurate with Education and Experience.
As needed. Weekends, Holidays required.

  • Cleans according to local, state, and federal health code, all kitchen equipment, walls, ceilings, floors, restaurant flat and plate ware and empties trash containers. 
  • Grammar school, training provided.
  • Organization and prioritization skills. Able to read and write English. Able to add, subtract, multiply and divide.
  • Must have full and normal use of the entire body as it relates to physical labor. Able to repeatedly lift, lower, pull and push up to 50 pounds at once. 
  • Must be able to stand and walk for up to eight hours. Must be able to hear and see up close and at a distance, recognize colors, possess peripheral vision and depth projection. 

Department: KITCHEN
Pay range – Hourly Commensurate with Education and Experience
As needed. Weekends, holidays required.

  • Collects mise-en-place for pantry menu items and preparation as required for daily operations.
  • Prepares pantry station items as directed and according to recipe.
  • Seeks direction from chef / supervisor in charge to determine daily/weekly production requirements.
  • Applies the concept of “first in first out” as it relates to product rotation.
  • Completes prep list at end of shift for incoming team member.
  • Is able to multi-task food orders and verbal communication.
  • Is familiar with the operation and cleaning of kitchen equipment and utensils, including, but not limited to: knives, measuring utensils, scales, can opener, slicer, mixer, blender, dishwasher, ovens and stoves.
  • Is familiar with the names of pantry food items, holding, cooking and heating equipment and utensils.
  • Is familiar with food safety and sanitation guidelines.
  • Maintains a clean and organized work station.

Department: RESTAURANT
Pay range – Hourly Commensurate with Education and Experience
Requires a flexible schedule to include weekends, holidays and weekday evenings.

  • Supervise Dining Room. Ensure guest satisfaction and that Standards are followed.
  • Must have good oral and written communication skills to be able to deal with guests and employees. 
  • Must have the ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and procedure manuals. 
  • Must be able to juggle multiple tasks.
  • Must have a min. of 2-4 years’ experience with a fine dining establishment or have comparable education and/or experience. Must have a high school diploma or GED.

Department: RESTAURANT
Pay range – Hourly Commensurate with Education and Experience
Requires a flexible schedule to include weekends, holidays and weekday evenings.

  • Assists in maintaining the quality, consistency, guest service, and sanitation of Restaurant and Bar area. Delivers all food from the kitchen and returns all dishes to the dishwashing station.
  • Regularly required to stand, walk use hands to handle or feel objects or tools. Must occasionally lift and/or move up to 40 pounds.
  • Fast paced environment where customer service is a must. The noise level is usually moderate.
  • Controls all check transactions for restaurant, room service; balances cash drawer, takes room service orders, delivers to room, and completes assignments as directed by Food and Beverage Management.
  • High school education or equivalent. Ability to read and write English, to interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and procedure manuals. Must be able to communicate effectively with guests and fellow associates.
  • Basic math skills. The ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide.
  • Regularly required to sit or stand for long periods up to 7 hours, walk (often up/down stairs), push carts, carry trays, and occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. The repetitive use of a computer keyboard and touch screen is required.
  • Will be required to work in all areas of the property in a fast pace customer service environment. Will be exposed to all types of weather conditions and indoor temperatures.

Department: RESTAURANT
Pay range – Hourly Commensurate with Education and Experience
Requires a flexible schedule to include weekends, holidays and weekday evenings.

  • Responsible for set-up of dining room and service areas of kitchen, taking orders, and delivering food, beverage and all other requests by guests.
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules operating and procedure manuals.
  • Must be able to communicate effectively with guests and fellow associates.
  • Fine Dining experience preferred.
  • Must occasionally lift and/or move up to 40 pounds.
  • Vision and sensory abilities include close and color vision and a sense of depth.
  • Environment is fast paced with a high volume, may be subject to changes in temperature from hot to cold to extreme weather conditions.

Department: BAR
Pay range – Hourly plus Gratuity
Flexible schedule. Evenings, weekends and holidays required.

  • Prepare drinks, controls, and operates pub and service bar to the standard of The Spa at Norwich Inn.
  • Follows mandatory policies on the serving of alcoholic beverages.
  • High School diploma or equivalent.
  • Practical bartending experience or completed mixology course.
  • Completed TIPS program.
  • Must be able to stand up to 7 hours, be able to push, pull, tug, and lift up to 4O lbs.
  • Physical dexterity.
  • The employee must be able to work a diversified schedule that may include last minute scheduling. Shift hours will differ in length of time.

Department: SPA TREATMENT
Pay range – Hourly Commensurate with Education and Experience
Varied schedule to include weekends, holidays and weekday evenings.

  • Under the supervision of Spa Management, the incumbent will perform massage therapy and will be trained to perform other spa body treatments including but not limited to hydrotherapy, body wraps, exfoliation treatments, hot stone treatments, etc. General knowledge of spa operations, equipment, products and procedures are essential.
  • Must be currently licensed as a Massage Therapist in the State of Connecticut. National certification a plus. 

Department: SPA TREATMENT
Pay range – Commission Based Compensation
Varied schedule to include weekends & holidays, and weekday evenings.

  • Responsible for providing Esthetic therapies as set forth in our Spa Menu of Services. 
  • In addition to performing esthetic treatments, technicians with Master Esthetician or Cosmetician/ Cosmetologist certification may be trained on other spa body treatments including but not limited to hydrotherapy, body wraps, exfoliation treatments, etc. 
  • Analyzes skin to ascertain condition and prepare for treatment therapy. 
  • Continual skin assessment to recommend specific product types and or service upgrades. 
  • Educates guest throughout steps of treatment and in follow up home care with the retail recommendation.
  • Must be a licensed Esthetician. A copy of the Esthetician license must be provided for terms of employment. 
  • Must have good interpersonal skills. 
  • Must be able to prioritize and be multi-tasked. 
  • Must possess proficient esthetic therapist/body work skills and be willing & able to learn more. 
  • Must be a High School Graduate. 
  • Must be a licensed graduate of a 400-600 hours accredited Esthetic program. Experience is desired. 
  • Guest service experience necessary. Computer experience necessary. Must be able to speak, read and write English.
  • Ability to perform a minimum of six hours of consecutive treatments
  • Must be able to stand for a minimum of 6 hours a day in the course of giving treatments or training to give treatments using repetitive motions. 
  • Must be able to push, pull, tug, lift, and carry up to 20 lbs. in the preparation of all treatments and training for treatments.
  • The work environment is fast paced, with a high volume of guest, employee, and management interactions.
  • Must be able to work with steam, aromatherapies, phyto-therapies, nut oils, massage oils and lotions, product mixes, hot stones, cold stones, wet rooms, linens and floral and vegetable materials without allergy or reaction.

Department: SPA MANAGEMENT
Pay range – Hourly Commensurate with Education and Experience
Varied schedule to include weekends, holidays and weekday evenings.

  • The Assistant Spa Director will work closely with the Spa Director to oversee all aspects of the day-to-day Spa & Salon operations and related services ensuring exceptional guest experiences, efficient workflows and a positive team environment.
  • Assists in oversight of the spa and its financial performance, provides guidance and oversight of the implementation of strategic initiatives at the spa.
  • Directly responsible for the Spa Administrator, Guest Service Supervisor, Massage Therapists, Prep Attendants, and Spa Attendants.
  • Maximizes productivity and ensures adequate staffing levels; treatment execution, inspects and implements necessary service and safety guidelines; and conducts maintenance and other spa site inspections.
  • Assist Director with forecasting revenues and expenses for the Massage / Body Treatment Department.
