SPA AT NORWICH INN FEATURES CONNECTICUT PRODUCTS WITH ITS CONVENIENT ONLINE ‘PRE-ARRIVAL CONCIERGE’
NORWICH, Conn. – The award-winning Spa at Norwich Inn is featuring products grown or made by Connecticut family companies and farms in its successful online “Pre-Arrival Concierge” service.
The service is used by corporate meeting planners who want a simple way to order a gift for VIPS staying at the inn and spa, by family wanting to send a welcome gift to someone visiting the spa to revitalize, or friends and family wanting to surprise a bride or groom and their family members who are having a wedding at the spa. The purchaser need only visit online at www.TheSpaAtNorwichInn.com to see the Concierge feature, click and find a menu of choices of welcoming gifts.
Created by Daniel Chong-Jimenez, executive chef at The Spa at Norwich Inn, these amenities “feature products that are uniquely ‘Connecticut,’ strengthening our community bond and identity. Our guests have come to expect high-quality, home-grown foods and products that speak of the state’s centuries-old farming and manufacturing heritage.”
The Spa’s Country Paradise Basket includes shortbread cookies from Tokenoke Foods LLC of Black Rock, Conn., cider from Holmberg Orchards from Gales Ferry, honey from Jones’ Apiary in Farmington, Conn., as well as a collector-quality pewter beehive honey jar and spoon from the Woodbury Pewter Company, established in 1952 in Woodbury, Conn. The basket also includes mixed nuts, maple leaf candy and seasonal candy and costs $89.
The Welcome Platter, priced at $79, includes seasonal fruits and berries with Connecticut-made seasonal cheese, jam from Rose’s Berry Farm in South Glastonbury (one of Travelocity’s “Local Secrets, Big Finds for 2005), crackers and a handsome Connecticut-handcrafted cheeseboard with pewter spreader and handles from Woodbury Pewter.
Munson’s Chocolate, a third-generation family business which is Connecticut’s largest retail chocolate manufacturer, is featured in Chocolate Indulgence, which includes a six-piece sampling of Munson’s chocolates with an aromatic bouquet of dry lavender blossoms presented in a collector-quality Admiralty pewter bowl from Woodbury Pewter. The price is $69.
Munson appears again on the concierge list with an eight-ounce variety including creams, nougats, nut clusters, melt-aways, crisps and caramels covered in pure milk and dark chocolate for $25.
Other Pre-Arrival Concierge items include Romantic Escape, which includes freshly picked rose petals scattered from the guestroom door to the bed, where a dozen jumbo strawberries dipped in chocolate and a bottle of Moet & Chandon champagne await. The cost is $125. The amenity costs $85 if Cannella Prosecca sparkling wine is substituted for the champagne.
Port & Stilton Blue Cheese includes English Stilton with its classic pairing – Graham’s Six Grapes Port. The cost is $39 to $75, depending on the size bottle. And a classic Fruit Basket wrapped in cellophane with a bow is $25.
Amenities that include alcoholic beverages are available for delivery to guestrooms in the Norwich Inn building only. Additional liquor amenities range from a bucket of six New England Beers at $35 to a bottle of Dom Perignon champagne from France at $185.
The pre-arrival concierge can also arrange for gifts of the Spa at Norwich Inn’s private label beauty and body products. They include: travel-sized versions of the Sugar Butter Body Scrub, Sugar Sweet Body Wash and Sugar Smoothie Body Crème in a reusable silver mesh bag for $23 and the Coco-Mango Collection, a seven-piece set including body lotion, shower gel, shampoo, conditioner, soufflé, cream and net sponge in a reusable plastic tote bag for $65.
